My first memory with a camera dates back to elementary school. I took a class through the community center where we'd walk around town with disposable cameras and take photos. Flash forward a few years, and I got my first digital camera for Christmas. The rest, as they say, is history. I was that high school student going to my photography classroom any spare moment I got.

In college, I pursued my passion for storytelling by majoring in Journalism with a minor in Studio Art. In between interviewing strangers and going on photojournalism assignments for the school paper, I was in the dark room, developing my latest roll of film.

I have always found peace behind my camera. It helps me be present and notice the beauty around me. Particularly when photographing people, I love being immersed in the moment whilst being a fly on the wall. When the time is right, I get involved, moving my vision for the moment forward, and when life is happening beautifully around me, I go unnoticed, capturing it all.

While my background is in documentary photography, I understand "the shot" that will likely get hung on your wall, mailed at Christmas time, and posted on your loved one's birthday. Therefore, my approach is typically here's an idea followed by photographing whatever happens next. Together, let's capture the beauty of your reality--whether you're in love, had a child, or are commemorating a professional milestone, this season of life ought to be remembered through joyful and organic images.
